Code compliance and performance
While the appraisal is based on the New Zealand Building Code (NZBC), the same product range has been designed and tested to meet comparable performance requirements under the National Construction Code (NCC) in Australia, particularly in relation to fire resistance and safety.
The BRANZ appraisal evaluates the product systems, testing methodology, performance results, identification, and supporting literature against the following NZBC clauses:
- Clause B2 Durability: Performance B2.3.1 (b) – 15 years, and B2.3.2. Allproof Passive Fire Protection Products comply with these durability requirements.
- Clause C3 Fire Affecting Areas Beyond the Fire Source: Performance C3.6. Allproof Passive Fire Protection Products help achieve this performance requirement.
- Clause F2 Hazardous Building Materials: Performance F2.3.1. Allproof Passive Fire Protection Products comply and do not present a health hazard to building occupants.
In Australia, equivalent performance requirements are addressed under:
